Navajo Lake State Park (36 Road 4110 #1, Navajo Dam, NM 87419; phone: (505) 632-2278) is located approximately 25 miles east of Farmington via US-64 and is one of New Mexico's most popular outdoor destinations. The San Juan River below Navajo Dam is world-renowned for trophy trout fishing, consistently rated among the best tailwater fisheries in the country. The park also offers boating, camping, and hiking across multiple developed areas including the Pine Site and Sims Mesa.
Paved parking areas near both sites can accommodate buses. A popular destination for fishing tournaments, corporate team outings, family reunions, and outdoor retreat groups traveling from across the Four Corners region.
Farmington Civic Center
Farmington Civic Center (200 West Arrington Street, Farmington, NM 87401; phone: (505) 599-1148) is the primary performing arts and event venue in the Four Corners region. The Civic Center Theater seats approximately 1,200 and hosts a year-round calendar of concerts, theatrical performances, graduations, trade shows, and community events. Bus drop-off is on Arrington Street, with the adjacent parking lot accommodating large vehicles.
The Civic Center also serves as a hub for regional conferences and conventions drawing groups from across San Juan County and neighboring states. For concert nights and graduation ceremonies, a charter bus keeps your whole group together and eliminates the parking scramble on Arrington Street.
Farmington Museum at Gateway Park
Farmington Museum at Gateway Park (3041 East Main Street, Farmington, NM 87402; phone: (505) 599-1174) is open Tuesday through Saturday, 9am–5pm, with free admission. The museum features exhibits on the natural and cultural history of the Four Corners region, including Navajo and Ancestral Puebloan heritage, the regional oil and gas industry, and local wildlife. The E3 Children's Museum & Science Center is also located at Gateway Park, making it a popular combined destination for school field trips.
The main parking lot off East Main Street has ample space for buses. Free admission and easy bus access make this one of the most practical field trip destinations in Farmington for groups of any size.
McGee Park
McGee Park is San Juan County's primary fairgrounds and multi-purpose event complex, located off US-64 (East Main Street) on the eastern edge of Farmington. The complex hosts the annual San Juan County Fair, regional rodeos, trade shows, livestock shows, RV and boat expos, and large conventions drawing large numbers of attendees from across the Four Corners. Large paved parking areas surrounding the complex can accommodate charter buses and motorcoaches with ease.
For trade show exhibitors, convention attendees, and fair-goers traveling in groups, a charter bus from downtown Farmington hotels to McGee Park is one of the most practical transportation options in the region.
